Stop using Tretinoin (Retin-A), retinols, glycolic acid, alpha hydroxy acids, or other anti-aging products for two days before and after your treatment.
✓ Avoid Alcohol
Do not consume alcoholic beverages for 24 hours before your treatment to reduce the risk of bruising and swelling.
✓ Pregnancy, Allergies, or Neurological Conditions
Do not receive dermal filler treatment if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, allergic to any filler ingredients, or have a neurological disorder. Please inform your provider of any relevant medical conditions.
After Treatment Instructions
✓ Avoid Touching or Massaging
Do not touch, press, or massage the treated areas unless instructed by your provider, as this can affect filler placement.
✓ Avoid Strenuous Exercise
Hold off on intense physical activity for 24 hours after treatment to help minimize swelling and bruising.
✓ Limit Heat and Sun Exposure
Avoid saunas, tanning beds, hot yoga, and prolonged sun exposure for 72 hours post-treatment to prevent inflammation.
✓ Reduce Alcohol and Salt Intake
Minimize consumption of alcohol and salty foods, which can increase post-treatment swelling.
✓ Manage Swelling
If needed, apply a cool compress for 15 minutes each hour to reduce swelling and discomfort.
✓ Use Tylenol for Discomfort
You may take Tylenol (acetaminophen) as needed. Avoid NSAIDs like Advil or Ibuprofen unless approved by your provider.
✓ Sleep Elevated
Sleep on your back with your head slightly elevated the first night to help minimize swelling.
✓ Consider Arnica
Arnica supplements or cream may be used starting two days before and continuing after treatment to reduce bruising and swelling.
✓ Avoid Skin Treatments
Wait at least four weeks before having facials, laser treatments, or chemical peels in the treated area.
✓ Swelling and Bruising
These effects are normal and typically resolve within 7 days.
✓ Follow-Up Appointment
Book a follow-up visit in 2–3 weeks to assess your results and make any adjustments if needed.
✓ Contact Your Provider If Needed
If you experience significant pain, excessive swelling, skin blanching, or any unusual symptoms, contact your provider immediately.
