PRP and PRF Treatment Instruction

Before Treatment Instructions:

✓ Avoid Blood Thinners (5–7 Days Before):
Refrain from taking medications or supplements that thin the blood, such as Aspirin, Advil, Ibuprofen, Naproxen, and other anti-inflammatories. Also avoid herbal supplements like fish oil, ginkgo biloba, and vitamin E.
Consult your physician before stopping any prescribed blood thinners.

✓ Hydrate Well:
Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your treatment to ensure a smoother blood draw and improve blood quality.

✓ Avoid Alcohol and Smoking (24 Hours Before):
Refrain from consuming alcohol and smoking for at least 24 hours before your appointment, as both can impair healing and reduce treatment efficacy.

✓ Treatment Area Preparation:
Arrive with clean, product-free skin or hair depending on your treatment type:

  • For Skin Rejuvenation: Cleanse your face and arrive without makeup, lotions, sunscreen, or creams.

  • For Hair Restoration: Wash your hair beforehand and avoid using gels, mousse, sprays, or other styling products.

✓ Eat a Light Meal:
Have a small meal or snack prior to your appointment to maintain stable blood sugar levels—especially if you're sensitive to blood draws.

After Treatment Instructions:

✓ Minimal Downtime:
You may experience mild redness, swelling, or tenderness at the treatment site for up to 72 hours. Bruising is uncommon but possible. Most clients return to normal activities the next day.

✓ Keep the Area Clean (First 24 Hours):

  • For Hair Treatments: Avoid sweating, hair products, and wearing hats or headbands.

  • For Skin Treatments: Refrain from applying makeup, creams, or skincare products unless instructed otherwise.

✓ Expected Reactions:
Redness, swelling, and tenderness are normal and usually subside within 1–3 days. Cool compresses can help relieve any discomfort.

✓ Avoid Vigorous Exercise & Heat Exposure:
For the first 24 hours post-treatment, avoid heavy exercise, saunas, steam rooms, and hot showers to minimize inflammation and optimize healing.

✓ Stay Hydrated:
Continue drinking plenty of water post-treatment to support recovery and maximize treatment effectiveness.

✓ Avoid Sun Exposure:
Limit sun exposure to the treatment area after your appointment to prevent irritation and optimize results.

Common Side Effects:
